Step2:Pre-reading (3minutes) 1.Show the main ideas of three stories and let the students read and guess the names of the stories. 2. Lead in the snake with a riddle. And ask:

a. What’s this?? b. What does the snake like to eat? Lead in the story: The snake and the rat. Step3:While-reading( 20minutes) 1. Lead the students to listen to the whole story and arrange the pictures. 2. Help the students to learn Part 1 with the following questions: a. What is the snake like? b. What animal does she see? 3. Help the students learn Part 2. 4. Help Ss read Part3, Part4 and Part5 . a. Have the students read silently and fill in the table. b. Ask a question: What things can the rat do? c. Motivate the students to read and imitate sentence by sentence. d. Have the students learn the new word and phrase: lake, throw … into 5. Lead the students to learn Part 6. a. What can the rat do? b.
