Step 1: Pre-reading 1.

Hello, boys and girls. I’m your English teacher today. Do you like English songs? First, let’s enjoy a song, then tell us what the song is about. S1: Jobs.

T: Yes. Jobs. What jobs are mentioned in the song? S1: A farmer, a worker, a driver and a waiter.

T: Yes. What other jobs do you know? Try to share in groups. 【设计意图：通过一首关于职业的歌曲引出话题，并通过与学生谈论，激活学生

的旧知，为下一步学习进行铺垫。】

T: Wonderful. You’ve known so many jobs. So what do you want to be in the future? A teacher? A writer? What are your dreams? Today let’s learn Unit 8 Our dreams. Read the title 3.

T: What do you want to be in the future? Read (in the future) Discuss in pairs. 4.

T: Those are your dreams. Do you know my dreams? Now I’m a teacher. When I was a child, what did I want to be? Can you guess? Ss guess. T: Look, I wanted to be an astronaut. Because I can fly s spaceship to the Moon. Read ( an astronaut, fly s spaceship to the Moon) T: I also had another dream. I like music. Look, I wanted to be a pianist. Step 2: While-reading 1.

T: Look, your friends are talking about their dreams too. Who are they? Ss: Miss Li, Mike, Wang Bing, Liu Tao, Su Hai, Nancy and Yang Ling.

Listen and circle T: They are talking about their dreams. First, let’s listen and circle. Circle the jobs mentioned in the tape.

Read and match T: Who wants to be an astronaut? Who wants to be a dentist? Let’s read and match. Open your books. Read page 78 and 79, then finish it on page 80. Check the answer. Read the sentences. 4.

Read and underline T: These are their dreams. Why do they have these dreams? Read and find out the reasons. Read page 78 and 79, and underline the reasons. Read the sentences. T: What do you think of their dreams? Ss: Their dreams are great/ wonderful/ ... 5.

T: What’s Miss Li’s dream?
