Presentation

I. Lead in

Introduce the new word “hungry” by making up a boy named Mike.

(Prepare some pictures of food and use them to make up a boy’s face by asking the question: What can you see?)

II. Review some food names by asking the question: If you are hungry,what can you eat?

III. Teach new words: noodles,biscuits,bread,milk. 1.

Teach the word “noodles” by saying the following:

They are long. They are delicious. We eat them like this. 2. Teach the word “milk” by saying three key words:cow, white,drink. 3. Teach the word “bread” by guessing a kind of food partly covered. 4. Teach the word “biscuits” by testing the pupils’ memory.

Step3

Practice and consolidation

1. (30-second task) Ask the pupils to say the food as many as they can in 30 seconds and then ask them what they like. (Write “What do you like?”

“I like... .”on the blackboard) . After that, have the pupils ask me “What do you like?”.

2. Have the pupils learn some other countries’

food by following Mike’s travelling route. Let them know different countries, different food. They are special and delicious too.

Step 4

Application

1. To develop their love and kindness, tell the pupils to give some food to a poor girl . ( drawing a kind of food and expressing their reasons)

2. Watch a video about wasting food and make the pupils understand: Cherish food，refuse to waste!

Step 5 Homework

Collect some more other countries’foods and show them by card.
