A day at the Palace Museum Step 1 Lead-in Watch a video about The Wandering Earth and ask students where the characters are. T: Today I’m your tour guide , I will show you around Beijing. What place in Beijing can’t we miss? S: The Great Wall, The Tianan’men Square, The Palace Museum and so on. Step 2

Pre-listening 1. Watch and answer Show the pictures of the Palace Museum and play a video. Answer the following questions.

(1) Is the Palace Museum square or round? (2) Who lived in it?

(3) Which two colours are the main colours of it? 2. Introduction about different palaces. 3. Read and complete. T: There will be a treasure show in the Palace Museum. Here is a poster of the show. Read the poster and match the places and the shows. Step 3 While-listening

1. Listen and complete. Tip: Before reading, you should read the information of the listening material, they maybe helpful. T: After reading, fill in some blanks of the table according to the information in A1. T: Listen to the introduction and complete the rest of the table. 2.
