Learn to get the information about the Palace Museum from the listening text 3.

Develop students’ ability of listening, speaking, reading and writing 4.

Encourage students to read more books and go out for trip to learn more about the world. Teaching Procedures Step I Lead-in 1.

Lead the students to talk about places of interest in Beijing 2.

Read the short passage of the Palace Museum and answer questions Step Two: Pre-listening

1. Find out the three parts of the plan and what places to go.

2. Read through the poster and fill in some blanks on P37. (Level One: to be a good reader) Step Three: While-listening

Listen to complete the table on P37. (Level Two: to be a good listener) Step Four: Post-listening 1.

Help Neil complete his email to Mum(Level Three: to be a good helper) 2.

The students act as the guide and introduce the trip plan. (Level Four: to be a good speaker) Step Five: Make a dialogue about the trip. 1.
