How much is the hat? 

It's five dollars. 

How much are these socks? 

They're two dollars. 

How much is the pair of trousers? 

It's seven dollars. 

How much is the pair of black trousers? 

It's seven dollars. 

教学设计说明

1. 通过描述图片中的衣物和问答价格复习上一课时学习的单词和句型。注意反复出现上一课时的生词，增加词汇的复现率，使学生在反复运用中记住并掌握已学的单词、句型。

(1)Daily greeting to the students（日常问候）

(2)Revision（复习）: Revise the new words and structures learnt in the last period.

T: What are these?

S: They are clothes.

T: Describe them. What’s this?

S: It’s a big black hat.

T: Please ask and answer about their prices.

A: How much is the big black hat?

B: It’s three dollars.

Grammar Focus (语法学习)

(1)Ask students to read the sentences in the grammar box in pairs. And then ask them to make conversations using target language to ask about the things in the classroom.

For example, a student points at something across the room and asks. How much is that alarm clock? Or how much are those black bats? And then ask students to make conversations using things around them. The following words and sentences given may be chosen. For example, this, that, these, those, black, white, yellow, green, red, blue, how much is / are...? It’s / they’re ...and so on.

2．学生先朗读Grammar Focus, 带着感性认识完成3a的造句练习，教师再引导学生从感性认识提升到理性认识，发现这些词汇在句中的运用规则。

Sample conversation:

S1: How much are these blue and yellow socks? S2: They’re three dollars.

S1: How much are these red shorts? S2: They’re eight dollars.

(2)Summing up and have a test Ask some students to sum up this lesson. Then look at the overhead projector and finish off all the test exercises by themselves. After that check the answers and correct them.

(3) Work on 3a. Ask the students to make four sentences with the words in the three boxes.

(4) Get them to check their answers in pairs.

(5) Ask some Ss to read out their answers to the class.

(6) Find out the rules of making these sentences. 3. Work on 3b

Make sentences in the chart with the words in the three boxes. 4.Work on 3c.

Student A, look at the pictures in 3b for a minute and then close your book. Students B, ask question.
