Teaching aims: 1. To let the students know the history of kites and respond to information obtained to master the skills of listening and reading. 2. To develop their ability of talking about outdoor activities according to what they’ve learned. 3. To train the students’ team spirits and competitive awareness through the tasks designed. Teaching procedures: Step1.Warming-up

2. A short video “Flying a kite”. Step2.Part A1

1. Show some pictures of kites in different shapes.

“What does it look like ?”

“Whose kite is it ?”

[Task 1 Listen and write]

2. Listen and complete Part A1. (before listening, teach the skills of writing parts of words) Step3.part A2 3 .Show pictures of the four famous people and guess what they did

[Task 2 Listen and match]

4. Match each person with the correct event in Part A2. (Teach the listening skills of predicting and catching the key words)

Step4.part A3 5. Introduce more about the four great men by showing pictures and listening while teaching some new words

[Task 3 Read , listen and complete] 6. Fill in some of the blanks in Part A3. first ,then Listen to the whole passage again and fill in the rest blanks. (Teach the listening skills) Step5.consolidation .
