本课的教学对象是四年级学生，他们的英语知识已经有了一定的积累，英语听说读写方面的能力有了一定的基础，并能积极主动学习、善于模仿，具有较强的表现欲和自主探究能力。四年级的学生之前没有接触学习过过去式。因此，本课是学生第一次运用过去式。
