本课选自新世纪英语小学五年级上册Unit10 Grand Theatre。单元主题The sun and the wind。我把本单元分为3个课时，分课时话题为：Period1:Meet the sun and the wind ; Period2:A nice trip in different seasons; Period3:Who is stronger. 本单元的核心板块为Farmland, Wonderland和Grand Theatre。Wonderland板块学习天气类词汇“wind, sky, wear, shine, blow”; Farmland 板块核心句型为：What will you do? I will… Grand Theatre 板块则讲述了风与太阳比较who is stronger最后经过比较太阳胜利的故事，在故事中学习单词quarrel, 进一步学习比较级。

本节课教学内容是第三课时，课文教学，是一则童话寓言故事。在这一板块出现的词组为quarrel about，make …do …，give off…等，需要学生在情境中理解其含义，并设计操练情景或小诗，操练重难点，同时运用表演道具让学生在表演中运用，以求达到可以整体理解和输出的效果。

经过四年多的英语学习，五年级学生已有了一定词汇储备量，可以根据一个主题进行简单对话或描述。基于学生喜欢表演，乐于表达，感情丰富的特点，本课更重视学生的朗读习惯和表达能力的培养，让学生有语言体验。让学生模仿风和太阳的口气来朗读文本，丰富学生的朗读色彩。结合本班学生爱表达的特点，中间设计了想象说话，提高学生的表达能力。但本班学生注意力集中时间较短，因此本课设计了很多带着任务去听的环节，培养良好的倾听习惯。
