一、单元整体分析

本单元谈论国际大都市，在Miss Guo和学生Peter,

Kitty,

Alice对话中先引入学生比较熟悉的大城市

Beijing&Shanghai让学生感知两个城市的时空距离，学习句型How long does it take to get to ... from ...by train/plane? It takes about ... 出现了表示方位的名词east, south, west, north要求学生听、说、读、写四会及短语in the north of , in the east of ；然后由近及远以短文的形式介绍了大都市Tokyo&London及那儿的美景美食；复习一般现在时。教师在教学中可以适当拓展其它一些闻名遐迩的城市及人文景观，如：Paris, the Louvre Museum

New York，the Statue of Liberty 等。

二、学情分析

学生从3B就开始学习实意动词的一般现在时，逐渐过渡到其第三人称单数的，循序渐进，大部分同学都可以运用一般现在时进行简单的会话及书面表达。本单元的内容与学生其他科目联系紧密，有利于拓展学生的课外知识。学生感兴趣，就能学好。本单元可能不好理解的内容：

国家名称，景观等专有名词的读音及书写以及有普通名词转化来的专有名词的特殊意义。如Tokyo, Great Wall（长城），Summer Palace（颐和园）等等。一些国家的人文景观和饮食文化的了解，the British Museum（大英博物馆），Tokyo Tower(东京塔)，日本的sushi(寿司)，英伦传统美食fish and chips(炸鱼薯条)

三、教学目标

1.以阅读、对话等方式推动对语言的感知和理解。

2.以阅读教学为主线，运用本单元目标语在相关语境中谈论大都市。

3.在“enjoy great city life”的主题中体验大都市的美，运用一般现在时描述自己喜欢和想去的大城市。
