Project Making a speech

Knowledge Objectives:

After this class, the students will be able to:

1. learn some basic information about sport. 2. know the rules for a sport to enter the Olympics. 3. grasp some useful expressions to introduce a sport.

Competence Objectives:

After this class, the students will be able to make a speech to the IOC based on the information learned from the text so as to enter the sport into the Olympics. Emotion Objectives:

Introduce Chinese culture to the world and develop the students’ pride in our country and emotion of patriotism; encourage students to pay attention to the sports in their daily life. Teaching key points:

By reading the text , develop the students’ writing and critical thinking ability.

Teaching difficult points: How to introduce a sport properly by using the information learned from the text to make a speech.

Teaching procedures:

Lead in: Watch a clip about 2016 Rio Olympic Games, get the students to talk briefly about the sports in it.

Task presentation:

Some sports such as Mahjong and Electronic Sport are trying to enter the Olympics. Make a speech on the recommended sport to the IOC (International Olympics Committee) to enter it into the Olympics.
