Teaching Procedures

Step 1 Lead in and Introduction Show the students some pictures and let them say which city is it and what’s their impressions of the city.

Step 2 Listening and Reading 1.

Listen to the passage and get the main ideas. After listening this passage, students are required to skim the passage quickly and answer the questions.

Fast reading: Students are asked to read the passage in three passage and have a through understanding of this passage.After reading, teachers give out some questions for students to know something about this passage.

Careful reading: In this part, students are asked to read the text carefully and loudly. Some key words are given by the teacher for students to summarize the features of the city, such as architecture, economy, traffic, location, etc. At last, the teacher give students some

key wors and expressions for students to refer to.

Consolidation: After reading the passage carefully, some practice are needed to do to consolidate what they have learned. By doing these exercises, students can understand the text much better.
