Teaching steps: Step 1: Pre-writing Task 1 Lead-in T: Hello, girls and boys! Today we're going to learn main task of unit4. Do you often

go to the zoo? Do you love animals? Animals are amazing. Do you know anything amazing about them? Look at the pictures and say something about them. S: Ants can smell things as well as dogs can.

Each of camels 'eyes has 3 eyelids.

A tortoise can live up to 150 years old.

A giraffe has only seven bones in its long neck. Task 2 Presentation T: Are you interested in amazing things? Where can we get information about amazing

things? S: We can get information from books, the Internet, TV programs, radio programs and

so on. T: How can we write about amazing things?

(Help students answer) First, we should make notes about the information.

Then, we should organize the information well. (首先，我们要列出事实性信息。然

后，我们要有条理地组织信息，整理成文。) Task 3 Reading T: How can we make notes about amazing things or persons? Let's take "the tallest

Nationality，birthday，the time of death belong to general information. Height, weight, the length of hands belong are amazing facts. When we make notes ,we should emphasize amazing facts.

An article is usually divided into three parts: beginning，explanation and ending. Usually beginning is general statements or a question. Beginning should be interesting. make notes about a strange man . Can you do it? Don't forget to collect amazing

facts. It's your turn to make notes.(Give them five minutes to make notes.) Now please exchange your notes and discuss if the note is a good one. (Show a good example of a note made by a student.) Step 3: Post-writing T: After writing, you should check your writing and make some necessary changes.

Make sure there're no spelling or grammatical mistakes. Use some cohesive words to make your article coherent.请检查你的文章并作必要的修改。确保没有拼写和语法错误，用一些连词使你的文章有连贯性。 Step 4: Homework Collect some information about amazing things and then write an article about them.
