Unit 4 Teaching Aim: 1 Students can understand and read the email with correct sense-group, pronunciation and intonation. Complete post-reading activity. 2 Able to introduce oneself and his friends with the reading skills primarily learnt from the teacher in this lesson. 3 Encourage students to make friends more and treat friends better.

Key point: Ss can understand the email. Difficult point: Ss can introduce his friends with the reading skills.

Teaching Procedures Step 1 : Warm-up ①

T: Are you ready? I’m new teacher here. May I know your English names?

What is your name? How about you? (设计意图：师生相互问候，拉近师生距离，创设轻松环境) ②

Game: paper, scissors, stone T and Ss play this game together. Whoever wins can ask the other questions. eg: what is your name? What can you do? Can you……? (设计意图：游戏的形式既复习了旧知识也为新课讲授做铺垫，打消对未知知识的恐惧)

Step 2 Presentation 1 Guessing game

T shows a picture and ask students “ What can she do?”

Ss can guess.

(设计意图：活跃大脑的同时又完成了“send an email”的教学)

2 Task 1: Read the email quickly

T: Look, this is my email. You can send an email at 549716253@qq.com

Oh! An email! Who? It is you! Let’s have a look.

It is Robin. Why? (Who can be my friend?)

Oh, he is looking for a friend.

OK, let’s know something about Robin.

Guess: What’s Robin like?

Ss read the text quickly and finish the two questions. ①

3 Task 2: Get the detail information.

T: We know Robin is …. But what can he do?

Now read the text in details and finish the activity 2.
