Know the differences between the two countries and cherish money. 教材分析：Section A is about shopping.In the meanwhile,words about numbers amd pronouns(this,that,these,those) will also be reviewed.The focus of grammar is “How much...”sentences.In this period,students are mainly going to learn how to ask and answer about the prices of clothes in English 教学方法： Situational language teaching;TBLT 学法指导：

Cooperative learning.

一、教学过程：

Step 1 Lead in T plays a video about shopping abroad,and reminds Ss to pay attention to the English sentences in the video.Then leads to the topic-- “How to buy things in English?”

Step 2 Presentation Presentation of the task T presents the task--Make money in the class and later use the money to buy things at the teacher’s store. T introduces the rules of the class today -- Ss work in 4 groups to compete with each other.At the end of the class,No.1 group can get ＄100, No.2 ＄50, No.3 ＄20, No.1 ＄10.They can use the money to buy things at the teacher’s store as awards.

Step 3 Practice 【Differences in prices】

On-line shopping in China(T-mall & RMB) Task 1-Guess the prices in China. T shows some pictures on the PPT to let Ss guess the prices of the stationery,sports things or food.(already learnt words) using the sentences: “How much is...?”

“It’s ...yuan.” “How much are...?”

“They’re ...yuan.”

T makes an example to the Ss.They keep practicing the new sentence structures. After practicing the conversation by certain Ss on each page,T leads Ss to read the conversation together.

On-line shopping in the U.S.(Amazon & US dollar) Task 2-Guess the prices in the U.S. T shows some pictures on the PPT to let Ss guess the prices of the clothes (new words) using the sentences: “How much is...?”

“It’s ...dollars.” “How much are...?”

“They’re ...dollars.”

T makes an example to the Ss.They keep practicing the new sentence structures. After practicing the conversation by certain Ss on each page,T leads Ss to read the conversation together.

【Differences in money】

1 dollar ≈ 7 yuan Task 3 Do the math T gives some price tags to Ss to let them calculate the corresponding numbers in yuan or dollar.

Step 3 Listening T plays the record and let Ss listen to the prices of clothes in foreigners’ daily life.

Step 4 Summary

T leads Ss to summarize what they have learnt today and stress the key points again. Sentences：

“How much is...?”

“It’s ...yuan/dollars.” “How much are...?”

“They’re ...yuan/dollars.”

New words: Clothes:T-shirt,skirt,sweater,bag,jacket,hat,shoes,trousers,shorts,socks. T leads Ss to summarize the competing result.And then T leads Ss to come to an agreement“It’s not easy to make money.Don’t waste money.”

Step 5 Production 【Flea market】

Ss use the money they earned to buy things in T’s store or the flea market using the following conversation: A:Can I help you? B:Yes, please.How much____________? A:_________________. B:I’ll take it/them. A:Here you are. B:Thank you. A:You are welcome.

In this class,most Ss have achieved the learning objectives during a relaxing and interesting process.And they also improved their value of money and learnt to work hard and cherish the money.However,the key points of grammar are not so well mastered.So next time,T will pay more attention to this.As for the teaching procedure,the lead-in part should be reconsidered.After the simple listening task in the book,T can add some more for the students to provide them with enough input.
