Pets Teaching plans Step One: Warming up by Presentation. 1

Free talk 2. T: We have learnt a lot about pets in this unit. Today you’ll write an article about your favourite pet. First, complete the fact sheet in Part B. You can discuss it with your partner. 3. After the students finish the task, teacher encourages them work in pairs and describe their pets to their partners. 4. Let several students introduce their own pets to the class.

Step Two :Presentation

Listen to the tape

Answer the following questions

What does Poppy look like? 2)

What is Poppy like? 3)

How does Poppy live ? 4)

How does Amy look after Poppy ? 5)

Why does Amy like Poppy ? 3.

Let the students read the article about Poppy. 4.

Teacher helps the students list the information on the pet according Part B.

Step Three: Write an article according Poppy 1. Let the students make notes about writing and think it over before writing. 2. When they write an article, they can use the words and phrases they like of Poppy the cat.

Step Four : Sample writing

Write it by themselves

Show some to the whole class.
