Provide the topic (3’)

Show a picture to introduce our task today—write a passage about the advantages and disadvantages of television. Step 2. Pre-writing 1.Ask Ss to revise some words related to television. And then check the answers. 2. Give the students a writing task and this writing task is about television. 3. Ask the Students to discuss the following questions with partners:

How many key sentences should this passage have and what are they?

Then check the answers. 4. Ask the Students to answer a question: Generally speaking, how many parts does a passage have? And then let them discuss which sentences should be put into part1, part 2 and part3 with partners. Then Check the answers. Step3. While-writing

Ask group 1 to write part 1, group 2 to write part 2, group 3 to write part 3 and group 4 to write part 4. And tell them after 4 minutes, they should choose the best one in their own group to hand in. 2.

Exchange their works among the groups. And then give them 1 minute to correct the mistakes in these short paragraphs. 3.

Ask them to hand in again. 4.

Show their works to the whole class and compare them to find which one is better. 5.
