Teaching Procedures:

Step I. Greetings

Greet the whole class. Step II. Lead in

Show the students several advertisements, asking them to answer several questions.

Advertisement 1:

1. What is this advertisement about?

2. Do you want to buy it ? Why?

Advertisement 2:

1.How about this one? Advertising for what?

2.What does it persuade us to do?

3. Do you like this advertisement? Why?

Question:

What kind of advertisements are these two?

Step III. Discussing

Lead the students read another advertisement and ask to answer the following questions:

Advertisement 1: 1. Can you read the word there?

2. What does it tell us? 3. What kind of advertisement is it?

4. What does PSA stand for? 5.Does it make you think of some social problems? What is it?

Advertisement 2:

1. Is this ad a commercial one or a PSA?

2.What does it try to tell us? 3. Do you think it will take effect(起作用)? Step IV. Practice
