1. To enable Ss to know some skills of listening 2. To study some expressions to talk about cloning 3. Practice expressing and supporting/objecting to an opinion Ⅱ．

学情分析

1. The students may have difficulty in following the tape thoroughly because of some new expressions in the long dialogue. 2. Ss can have a good command of some common knowledge of cloning, since we have learnt the reading passages. 3. They will take an active part in the acting section. III．

重难点评论

1. Learn some important listening skills and apply them to listening 2. Some useful structures to express ideas about cloning IV．

教学过程

Step I Lead-in Use a piece of news on cloning to interest the students and stimulate them to express much about cloning. Step II Pre-reading

Before listening, give them some time to go through the statements and predict the main idea of the dialogue. Step III While- reading

Get the students to comprehend the passage quickly and accurately and meanwhile help the students form a good habit of listening. Step IV Post-reading

Check answers, listen again, read the dialogue and sum up listening skills.

Step V Discussion and debate Whose idea do you agree with? Use the useful expressions in page18 to express your opinion on cloning.(pros & cons) Step VI Show time Perform short plays about cloning. Step VII Summary Step VIII Homework Write a composition.
