*Festivals are meant to celebrate important events. *What part of a festival do you like best——the music, the things to see, the visit or the food? *Festivals and celebrations of all kinds are held everywhere. *They lit fires and made music because they thought these festivals would bring a year of plenty. *Some festivals are held to honor the dead or satisfy and please the ancestors. *Festivals can be held as an honor to famous people or the gods. *The most energetic and important festivals are the ones that look forward to the end of winter and to the coming of spring. *Festivals let us enjoy life, be proud of our customs and forget our daily life for a little while.

步骤1：Warming up: video leads to the topic. 设计意图：

尼泊尔庆祝传统中国春节英语视频，激发学生兴趣，直接引入话题

步骤2：Class work:---Brainstorming Q1: What about your spring festival? （可参考课前导读）

Q2: Can you name some other festivals? Discussion : the details of the festivals Q3: Do you know the festivals abroad?

设计意图：全员活动，师生和生生互动的情境中，鼓励学生自由表达观点

步骤3：Group work---- Debate:

Celebrate the western festivals or not Speech tips: 1. ...become more and more popular... 2.It’s improper...... 3. It was said that......

4. ...resist the western expansion of culture and the foreign soft force. 5. ...the reform and opening, 一，近年来，洋节确实很流行，万圣节的搞怪噱头、情人节的浪漫风情等，让中国民众深味“过别人的节日，图自己的快乐”。但洋节之盛，并不代表传统节日就式微了。春节大团圆、元宵闹花灯、端午划龙船、中秋赏明月……哪一个不是举国欢庆？哪一个不寄托着“乡愁”，令国人为之牵肠挂肚？

二，中国传统节日文化源远流长，弘扬传统节日，确实也有助于价值与情感的凝结、文化与历史的承续。不过，禁止过洋节，不如创新传统节日。现代社会快速的生活、工作节奏让国人倍感压力，大家都需要放松身心。而中国的节日还是有点少，用来放松的节日和非节日性安排尤其是我们的短项。圣诞节等洋节的流行威胁不了传统节日，换一个思考角度，在继承、弘扬中国传统节日上，我们是不是需要来一些更轻松、更有趣味的改进和重塑呢？

设计意图：团队合作交流，扩充词汇，增强学生的英语表达能力及运用词汇的能力。通过学生思考与辩论，认识到传统节日的意义和重要性，以及正确理解和对待西方文化节日。在学习中渗透道德教育，一举两得。
