Step Ⅰ Lead-in Task 1: Free talk about the topic: The United Kingdom.

T: How much do you know about the U.K. (the teacher showing some informative pictures to the students) Task2: A little quiz about the UK? Ask the students to do the quiz and then check the answers.

T: In this unit, we are going to learn something about the United Kingdom. Now let’s work in pairs, do the quiz in the Warming Up and find out how much you know about the UK. There are some questions with three choices A, B and C D for each one. Now please look them through quickly and choose the answers. You may discuss these questions with your partners.
