Task:Use modeled sentences to make a brochure about the Science Museum. (e.g. Welcome to … There is/are …… can … Really …!).
Background study and material analyse:
The children of Grade Five have learnt some adjectives and verbs to describe the places, and they have learnt the History Museum at last lesson. In this period, the
students will learn a lot about the Science Museum (e.g. Welcome to …There is/are ……can …Really …!). Then the students can know where the Science Museum is, what they can see in it and how they feel after visiting it. They have certain abilities to express their thoughts. Their listening and speaking language skills can be developed in this class. And they would love the nature and the science too. Objectives:
1. Using adjectives to give the feeling. (e.g. amazing, interesting …).
2. Using the modal verb ‘can’ to indicate abilities. (e.g. The robot can play the piano very well.)
3. Using the key phrases to make a brochure about the Science Museum. (e.g. Welcome to … There is/are …… can … Really …!).
4. To cultivate the students to love the nature and the science.
Difficulties:
1. Use the key phrases to fill in the blanks and then make a brochure by themselves. Aids:
1. Student’s book
2. Exercise paper
3. Multi-media (ppt)
