Teaching aims: a)

Pupils will be able to express and act their feeling states. b)

Pupils will be able to talk about their activities and emotional states, then give reasons. c)

Arouse children’s interest in learning English by:

Saying chants 

Playing games

Learning by doing. Difficult points: Talk about their activities and emotional states, then give reasons. Teaching aids: CAI, tape, cards and pictures.

Teaching procedures: Step1. Warming up. 1.

Greetings. 2.

Introduce today’s topic: Acting Training Course

Step 2 Revision I 1.

Present “Body Map” of feelings. 2.

A TPR game to review the words of feelings. (Follow Rule 1. Make facial expressions.)

Step3. Revision II-Phonics

1. Play a ping-pong game to review the phonics & words of Unit 3

2. Say a funny chant. E.g.T: _ee_ _

P: sleepy.

(Follow Rule 2. Speaking clearly and loudly.) Step4. Revision III 1.

Listen and run the maze.

Listen and draw the route for the maze.

Play A guessing game. By the help of a telescope and audio. Have pupils to guess the reasons of feelings states.

Step5. An Activity-Magic Finger & PK 1.

Play a Magic Finger game to review the main sentence patterns of this Unit.(Pair work) 2.

A PK between boys and girls. Compete the best actress and the actor.

e.g. P1: I am excited. (dice 3) P2: Why?

P1: Because I got a big chocolate cake. P2: That’s good!Magic Finger!(Do a spell.) P2: P1: I am sad.

P2: Why?

P1: Because I dropped my big chocolate cake. P2: Oh! That’s too bad!

Step 6. Reading and Number. 1.

Listen and read a passage. 2.

Give a name to the passage. 3.

Listen and read a passage again 4.

Number the pictures. 5.

Check the answer.

Step7. Production - a. Make a dialogue(My unforgettable day) 1.

Make a dialogue of your day in pairs. A: I had a/an .... day. B:What happened? A:In the morning, I ... I was ...

In the afternoon, I ... I was ...

In the evening, I ... I was ...

B: .. (Follow Rule 3.Light up your imagination.)

Step7. Production - b. Write and show. 1.

Listen to teacher’s dramatic day. 2.

Write down their unforgettable day. 3.

Act in groups. 4.

Show Time (Follow Rule 4: Act vividly.)

Step8. Summary Life is like a drama. Everyone is a player. What we can do is playing our part well.

Step9. Homework. 1.

Ask and write a passage about your dad or mum’s day.
