Lesson 8 First,Second,Third 一.教学目标:

知识目标:学生能听、说、读、写序数词first , second, third , fourth , fifth , sixth , seventh , eighth , ninth , tenth , eleventh , twelfth. 能力目标:

使学生掌握本课所学序数词,并能实际运用序数词。

情感态度:通过多样性的活动,激发学生学习英语的兴趣,调动积极性,使学生在英语课堂中不断体验成功,感受乐趣,树立自信心,促进学生综合语言运用能力的发展。

二.教学重难点:

重点:掌握新单词first , second, third , fourth , fifth , sixth , seventh , eighth , ninth , tenth ,

eleventh , twelfth.

掌握句型:Liming is the first .The girl is the second . The boy in red shorts is the third .

January is the first month . 难点:序数词的英文拼写及实际运用。

三.教学准备:幻灯片、单词图片

Step 1 Warm-up (一)Class Opening and Review: Teacher:hello,class。

Pupil:hello,teacher。

Teacher:how are you?

Pupil:Im fine,thank you。And you?

Teacher:IM fine,too。Nice to meet you。

Pupil:Nice to meet you,too。

Teacher:What's the weather like today? Pupil:Its sunny and hot. Teacher:How are you feeling today? Pupil:I feeling happy. Teacher:ok. Let's go to class. 2.Review: Before we start our new lesson today, we'll review the words we learned last time. Look at the picture “the months of the year”, ok, read after me……”January …”

Who wants to be a teacher,Let other students read the words to you. For example, I say January, you say j-a-n-u-a-r-y, January, January, January Do you understand?/

We practice the dialogue together. Whose birthday is in January? My birthday is in January. My birthday is in January ,too. Our birthday are in January. (设计目的:熟练掌握问候语,活跃课堂气氛,创造学习英语的氛围,拉近师生的距离。)

Step 2

Lesson hook:

1.After reviewing the words, Let's study lesson 8: first second third Look at picture,

What can you see in this picture ? its a race. Who is winning the race? Liming . he wins ,he is in first place.强调first what about the girl? what place is she in the race?

The girl is second. 强调second,把单词写到黑板上,大声朗读,要求学生跟读。

Look at the boy in red shorts. what place is he in the race? Now,look at the boy in red shorts .he is not first ,he is not second ,he is second in the race. 强调third,把单词写到黑板上,大声朗读,要求学生跟读。

Now let’s have a race . (教师演示比赛规则) (设计意图:通过数字、月份接龙这种学生喜闻乐见的形式复习学过的数字和月份,并为接下来学习第一至第十二的序数词做准备。)

2. Teach the ordinal numbers from fourth to twelfth .

a. 教师让四名学生自告奋勇走出教室,然后排队进来,让学生运用序数词表达。由此引出序数词fourth.

b.

教师出示其它序数词, Teacher use the same way to teach “sixth ---twelfth ”.

备注:twelfth 多读几遍。)

(设计意图:教师通过拍手读、面对面读、拍桌子读等多种读单词的方法,提高孩子们的学习兴趣,帮助孩子们在轻松愉快的环境中掌握单词。)

教师让学生坐在桌子上跟读,学生当小老师领读

(设计意图:教师通过坐在桌子上读、背靠背读、男女生对读、学生当小老师领读

Step3 Practice 1. Have a race : race to be first to guess the word .

教师把学生分为三组,抢猜单词最快最准最多的一组获胜

2. Pair work:talk about the month with your partners , then fish the match .

(设计意图:通过小组讨论,使学生巩固所学序数词和月份,并能够运用到句子中。同时这种形式可以鼓励更多学生参与到活动中,进而得到锻炼和表达的机会。)

3. Pair work: The twelve animals of Chinese zodiac.

Teacher let them talk about the twelve animals with their partners.

Who is the first ?

Who is the second ? .......

S1: Who is the first ?

S2: The mouse is the first .

(教师在学生讨论的过程中巡视,纠正错误,请学生将十二生肖贴在对应的序数词边上。)

Teacher invite three students to stick the twelve animals beside the ordinal numbers .

Step 5 Consolidation and extension Who can read the words one to twelve. Read it again Ok, how many months are there? That is right. there are 12 months . 老师展示1-12 序数词,同时要求学生朗读,

指出红体字

th,问学生是否看出序数词里包含four,fif six seven….

基变序,有规律,词尾加上-th。一,二,三变字体;th从4上起;8加h,9减e;用f代ve;ty变为tie。

(设计意图:让学生了解基数词整十和几十几变为序数词的规律。) 4. Pair work:

Can someone please help me by saying the 12 months? 学生自告奋勇,例如,学生说January,我说January is the first month.

Homework 作业布置张贴画:每组分配一个特殊的月份,这个月份有什么特殊的节日,做一个张贴画来展示这个节日,张贴画上必须要写日期,月份和数字。
