Teaching Steps: 1.

Warming-up Look at the picture. Who is on the train? We all know Danny, Jennny, LiMing and Mrs.Li are on the train. a. Where are they going on the train? b. What does Mrs.Li tell Danny? c. What do they see on the train? d. What are they doing on the train? e. Who is singing? Is Jenny singing? f. Are they hungry/thirsty on the train?

Presentation Look at some pictures carefully, and guess what they are doing now. Then ask Ss to answer. At last check. 3.

Learn the text What are they doing? A.

Listen to the record carefully, and pay attention to the questions. B.

Look at the pictures and answer the questions. C.

Read after the record. 4.

Role play Practice the text in groups and role play . Group 1- do the dobbing for the text. Group 2- present the same story as in the book. Group 3- present the story, but this time people on the train are doing some other things. 5.

Play a game Now let’s make a turetable with the words. A.

When it stops, let’s say the sentence and do the same action.

Write the sentences on your book. 6.

Write a passage Look at the picture. This is our playground. They are holding the sports meeting. Write a passage.

Make a stuational dialogue There are many other scenes like the playground, such as home, school, park, restaurant. Choose one scene, and describe what people are doing. Make a stuational dialogue in groups. Then display in groups. Volunteers describe the scene of our classroom. 8.

Let’s sing A song: What are you doing? (Watch the video and do actions) 9.
