HOW TO WRITE A STORY Teaching aims and demands: 1.

Review the main elements of a story--- WHEN, WHERE, WHO WHAT, and HOW 2.

Learn to develop a story in the order of time or place, 3.

Learn to end a story with the feelings of the main characters, 4.

Try to write a story according to the instructions. Teaching main points: 1.

Learn about the main elements of a story, 2.

Learn to organize the elements of the story according to the instructions in the order of time or place. Teaching difficult points: 1.

How to read the instructions and list the useful expressions and drills, 2.

How to make up sentences and polish them to form a good story. Teaching procedures:

Step 1 Revision Revise the story “The ghost in the park” and “What a brave young man”, and get the students to find out

When did the story happen? Where? Who are the main characters in the story? What happened to them? Step 2 Lead-in Go through the two stories and get the students to draw the conclusion---to develop a story ,we need to pay attention to the main elements of the story “WHEN,WHERE, WHO, WHAT, and HOW”

Step 3 Presentation Go through the two stories and revise how the stories are developed with some pictures. Then get the students to find out : 

To develop a story you should then pay attention to the main characters and their actions. Remember to organize the story in the order of time or place.



To end a story you should finally pay attention to the feelings of the main characters. Step 4 Practice Offer students a writing task and help them to read the instructions carefully. Help the students to list the useful expressions and discuss the feelings of the main characters. Encourage students to polish their sentences with advanced drills. Step 5 Writing

Ask students to complete their writing individually and then work in groups of four, making comments of each composition and recommending the best one of the group to the whole class. Polish the best one if necessary. Homework 1.
