Unit8 Pets Reading (Ⅰ) By Fuxing Middle School Ye Guangshuai 【教学目标】

1、能了解诗歌的押韵、重音和语调。

2、能阅读有关动物行为的诗歌，了解动物的习性和爱好。

3、通过诗歌学习培养学生的节奏感。

【学情分析】

诗歌是一种表达感情的独特方式。诗歌的教学能让学生在学习中找到乐趣，他们可以在较为轻松的语言中掌握知识。英语的节奏和汉语有不同之处，掌握节奏感是英语学习中的一个难题，因此，加强这方面的训练是初学者的必经之路。

【教学重点】

会用本课时的四会词汇、词组和句型：look after; take care of; I’ll look after him till the end. 【教学难点】

1、

能掌握诗歌的阅读节奏。

2、

能运用所学知识描述不同动物的各种行为。

【教学过程】

StepⅠ

Leading-in 1. Tell the students: We talked about pets last time. Some of you told me about the pets you like. Today I’ll tell you about the pets I like. Can you guess what they are? 2. Let the students guess the pet that the teacher likes. StepⅡ

Presentation 1. Show some pictures of dogs and teach the new words and phrases. 2. Say to the students: Do you know why I like pet dogs? First, dogs are

really lovely. Second, they are clever. They can do wonderful tricks. They’ll hunt when I hide.

If I have a dog, I’ll tell him not to bark, bite or fight. He’ll be my best friend and I’ll look after him till the end. StepⅢ

Practice 1. Tell the students: Here’s a poem about a dog. Please read it and tell me what the dog can do? 2. Listen to the tape and help the students mark the rhymes in each sentence. 3. Do the exercises 1-5 in part B1 on page95. 4. Listen to the tape again and read after the tape. StepⅣ

Presentation 1. Present the pictures of goldfish and say: I also like goldfish very much. I know a lot about them. What about you? Would you like to answer some questions about goldfish? 2. Present some pictures about goldfish and communicate with students. 3. Say to students: How quiet the goldfish is! It doesn’t bark and it doesn’t miaow. It just bubbles, bubbles, bubbles. It isn’t any trouble. StepⅤ

Practice 1. Ask the students read after the tape. 2. Group them in group of six , ask them to find out the rhymes in second poem and finish part B1 6-8 on page 95.

3. Exercises: Do some translations. StepⅥ

Show time Students practice to read some famous English poems. StepⅦ

Homework 1. Remember the poems after class. 2. Revise the new words and phrases.
