Show pictures and videos about my daughter and lead in the new words. 1. Why was my daughter unhappy?

S: There was no other children playing with her. She was alone at home.

2. Suddenly, she thought there was some chocolate in the bedroom. Was the door open? Unluckily, the door was locked. Was the key useful? Even worse, the key didn’t fit

the door.

3. She got a good idea again! “Yesterday grandma put some chocolate in my pocket.”

Suddenly, she noticed that there was a big hole in her pocket. The big hole surprised her. made her feel surprised. Maybe the chocolate went through the hole, fell for a short time and then hit the ground.

4. Read the new words together.

5. Show Ss a piece of video about Alice in Wonderland and ask Ss to guess the film.

Ask Ss to read fast and get the main points about the story (time, place, characters); teach Ss the tips of skimming. 2. Scanning

Ask Ss to match the pictures with paragraphs. Then, scan the story and try to divide(划分) the story into two parts according to place.

a. “Alice fell for a long time.” How do you know that she fell for a long time? b. There are also three "but"s in Para4&5. Can you help me find them out ?

Step3. Post-reading 1. Watch the original film and learn how to act. 2. Offer Ss some help and the scripts.

Step 4. Conclusion
