教材分析：本单元的中心话题是“Cloning”. 其中The Listening and Speaking of Using language “听和说”部分让学生听完一段关于克隆是否对动物残忍的对话后，首先交流听力内容，然后展开讨论，让学生发表自己的看法。这项练习不但有利于提高学生的听说能力，而且能引发他们对克隆动物健康的关注以及对克隆技术发展前景的再思考，具有现实意义。

学情分析：本校大多数学生来自于农村，学生的英语基础薄弱，尤其是听、说和写部分。他们学习英语的信心不足。在本节课前，学生因为学习了前面阅读部分的内容，对克隆有基本的了解，但是听力中获取具体的细节信息的能力还是比较薄弱。同时，学生不能用英语自信地表达自己的观点。写作方面也表达笼统，不具备更有说服力的能力。
