Module 4 Unit 1 It’s a black dog. 一、Analysis of the teaching material

The teaching material I use is Module 4 Unit 2 It’s a black dog. New Standard English book 1. The teaching material is a typical material of teaching design with touch and talk function. It emphasizes the cultivation of language sense and embodies the unity of instrument and humanity. It mainly talks about colors which plays a great important role in this book and also closely related to our daily life.

According to the new curriculum standard, Iset the following teaching objectives: 1.

Knowledge objectives: most of the students can listen, speak, read the new words: red, yellow, blue, green and black. Most of the students can recognize the sentence pattern: It’s a black dog! 2.

Ability objectives: Students can talk about colors in accordance with real situation. 3.

Emotional objectives: cultivate students’ interests

of talking about color. Based on the analysis of teaching material, the teaching key point and difficult point are as follows: 二、Key and difficult point Key point is that students can master the new words and grasp the

expression of describing colors. Difficult point is that students can use the sentence pattern It’s…to talk about color in real life.

三、Analysis of students.

Students in grade 3 just have learnt English for several months. They are willing to speak English. And all I can do is to bring English to their daily life vividly to make them believe that study actually is a part of their lives.

四、Teaching method

In order to break through the important and difficult points, I’d like adopt the learner-centered learning method, which emphasizes the status of our students. Task-based teaching method and situational approach will also be used, which aims to deliver the language points of this unit.

In order to finish my teaching, I will use ppt , word cards and multimedia as my teaching aids. 五、Teaching procedures. Step I Warming up and leading 1.

Step 2 presentation and practice Use ppt to teach the new words: dog, cat and cap. Meanwhile I will show the word cards to teach the new words and use all kinds of games to consolidate the new words. Such as loud and low voice. Magic fingers and so on. After learning the new words, I will teach the new sentence pattern “It is a +color +objectives.” And show different color, then ask students to talk about the color with the sentence pattern. Show the content of this unit, help students understand the main idea of this dialogue. Then I will ask student to do the role play to practice this dialogue. Step 3 practice and consolidation A.

Play a game Magic B.

I can say Help students use the key sentence pattern to describe the pictures. Step 4 Summary Chant to summary what we have learnt in the context. Dog, dog, black dog Cat, cat, red cat. Cap, cap, yellow cap Step 5 home work
