教学重点:

1.Words and expressions:

Bread, rice, want.

We have ... . What do you want?

I want... ./ ... for me, please. 2.To fully comprehend the word want and for and grasp the basic usage of these words.

教学难点:

1.The correct pronunciation of the new words and expressions. 2. Conduct students to master the communication language about asking others’ what they want to eat in the correct situation.

Step 1 New lesson 1. Warm-up 1.1 Greeting.

Good morning, boys and girls.

1.2 Free talk. What’s your English name?

What’s your Chinese name?

How are you today?

What’s the weather like today?

What day is it today? 1.3 Sing a song together: One Little Finger. Step 2. Review T: In Unit 3, what have we learned? S: Transportation. T:Very good! So can you share some transportation to us? Ss: Bus! Taxi! Subway! Train!... T: Yes, we have learned many transportation. Then today, we are going to learn a new unit. Let’s see some pictures together! (The teacher show some pictures on the PPT. Such as apples, sushi, chocolates, cake and bananas.)

Questions: What’s this?

What color is/are the ... ?

How many ... can you see?

Step 3 Presentation

3.1 Teach the new word to students. (Let students say the word by themselves.) 1)Show the picture of bread and rice, then ask students what is this. 2) Show the picture of other food such as cucumbers and tomatoes, then ask students how many … can you see? 3) Question: What’s your favorite food? 3.2 Teach the new text for students. 1)Teach the new word to students T:(Show the new word want to the students.)

Monica has a magic pocket. Let’s see what’s in it. (The teacher prepare a pocket with a lot of food in it. The teacher choose one food to ask students.)

Now I want bread.( The teacher choose the picture of bread tell the students “ I want bread.” Then put the bread picture into the big mouth)

(The teacher teach more) I want rice. I want chicken. I want a tomato…

2) Teach the new sentence to students

The teacher write down the sentence on the blackboard:

We have … and …. What do you want? I want …./ … for me. (The teacher use the magic pocket to practice this sentence. The teacher choose two pictures , then use the expressions of this text.) Step 4 Activity 3.3

Group work: Let students play different roles to make up conversations according to the text.

For example:

—We have … and… .

What do you want?

—I want … .

—… for me, please.

(The teacher prepare a pocket and put some food pictures in there and let students choose two and use the food to let students ask their classmates.) Step 5 Consolidation Let students do the exercise on the book and sing a song together in the textbook.

Step 6 Homework 1) Listen and read the conversations in lesson 22 for 10 minutes. 2) Choose your favorite food and draw it after class.
