让孩子们用事先准备好的卡片（国旗）同国家配对，锻炼其听说任读能力。

通过America一词引入新朋友Jim，进而引入课文，让孩子们在习得的基础上操练对话。

Summary: 本节课的问候语句是三年级学生学习过的问候语句，新学期开学通过同学间相互打招呼复习旧知，同时引出新知This is my new friend.我们的两位老朋友 Peter, Gao wei 相互打招呼问候并介绍Peter的新朋友，引出要学习的目标语言，从整体上让学生感知、模仿、学习和体验。本节课同学们积极参与，踊跃发言，效果很好。
