In the story “The ghost in the park”,everything happened in the past,

so we used the sample past tense. Do you remember the rules of this tense? So,let us study the new lesson-grammar’.we call it the simple past tense. However, we must know studing aims before beginning. （Ss read and remember them）

E.g. A month ago,Millie and Amy went to sunshine park. He was a teacher three years ago.

Lead Ss to pay attention to the expressions ‘a month ago ,three years ago ’ in

order to presenting the following task.

Give students some common time expressions:

ago (以前),just now(刚刚，刚才）, yesterday(昨天）, last night（昨天晚上）/week（上个星期）/month上个月）/year（去年）

,the day before yesterday（前天）, yesterday morning（昨天早晨）/ afternoon（昨天下午）, and make sure they can use the simple past tense to talk about things in the past.

The students know and master them,then they can try to make some sentences like this:

He was here yesterday .

I got up at six thirty yesterday morning.

My parents were not at work yesterday morning.

Did you have a good time last summer?
