Step 1 . Pr-reading

Learn-in : Quick answers.

How do you go to the town? How far is it from your home to the town? What do you think of your hometown? What will you do if your friend comes to visit you?..... Encourage students to answer the questions. 2.

Show some pictures to the students: I think there are a lot

of things to do in our city /town. I’d like to take them to ....park. The sky is blue and the air is very fresh. In the morning the park is quiet and many people like jogging in it . 3.

Having a big meal sounds great. I want to take them to a famous restaurant. Western food there is wonderful. It takes about ten minutes to go there by underground.

Step2 . While -reading

Read silently and finish Part B1.

Help the Class 1, Grade 7 students match the words with the meanings. 2.

Read after the tape and finish Part B2.

Read each paragraph aloud after the tape. Help them fill in the information. Write the correct letters in the boxes. 3.

Please read the script and then talk about what the exchange students can so in Sunshine

Town. They can go to the park, go shopping , eat Chinese food and enjoy Beijing opera.

Step 3. Practice

Work in groups pf four and ask students to read the passage. We have four groups now. I want you to read a different part.

Group 1 : Would you like to stay in quiet town? Group 2 : Would you like to go shopping? Group 3 : Would you like to eat Chinese food? Group 4 : Would you like to enjoy Beijing opera? 2.

Ted and Mary are exchange students from the UK. They want to call Daniel and Amy to ask questions about Sunshine Town. Work in groups of four to make a conversation between them. Encourage students to make conversations. Eg:
