教材分析

本模块的主题是A Social Survey---My Neighborhood，单元阅读文章由reading和cultural corner 两部分组成。本文A lively City 属于reading部分，是本单元的主阅读文章，以对话的方式介绍了厦门市的地理位置，气候，城市概况等。对于成都市的学生，都知道厦门这个城市，但由于地理距离相隔较远，对于厦门的具体概况可能知之甚少。通过本文的学习，学生能对厦门有所了解，感知到它的魅力与风情，从而逐步掌握介绍一个城市的必要要素，尤其介绍自己家乡的具体概况。

文本特征

本文的标题是A lively City。课文以对话的形式呈现，标题下方介绍了对话两人的名字和缩写，并配有一幅彩色插图，使得文章结构和主题一目了然。但值得注意的是，标题并没有直接提到厦门，学生可以从插图的海滨城市风光预测以及从阅读对话中逐步得知标题A lively City指的是厦门。

文本特点

（1）

从文本的语言来看，文章的语言从总体上浅显易懂，没有特别难的词汇和复杂的句式，整体理解不会太困难，不需要提前预习新单词。但由于是对话形式比较口语化，省略句和感叹语气也较多。

从文本的结构来看，课文是一个两人对话，对话场景是在车内展开，通过兜风观看路过的城市景色，层层展开，步步递进地介绍厦门。

从文本的内容来看，文章主要围绕“厦门”这个关键词展开对话。对话的双方是厦门人Xiao Li和到厦门参观的外国朋友John。两人的对话展示了厦门的地理位置，气候，建筑，旅游景点，商业区等。通过这些介绍学生可以得知道厦门的确是一个可爱富有生机的城市，是一个生活和旅游的好去处。

阅读策略

skimming，scanning，归纳总结。通过skimming引导学生快速了解本课的谈话人物，背景，地点，

内容大意。通过让学生完成表格来训练学生运用scanning获取信息的阅读策略。通过阅读本篇课文引导学生归纳出介绍一个城市的主要因素

学情分析

学生是在高中阶段第一次接触长对话形式的文章，虽然主题明确，但是线索不是十分清晰，学生会觉得内容比较散，不易把握重点及归纳概括，因此如何阅读此类体裁的课文需要加强引导。在初中英语学习的基础上，高一学生还没有熟练掌握skimming、scanning等阅读技巧以及识别关键词、预测等阅读策略。读后阶段用与学生生活贴近的家乡的内容能激起学生的兴趣，导游这一环节的设计给学生表现自己的机会，使参与度更高。

阅读教学的重难点

根据上下文，自己推测出一些重要单词在文中的含义；帮助学生对长对话内容进行归纳梳理，形成较为清晰的脉络。

教学目标

教学活动设计

Pre-reading stage：（5 minutes）

Activity：complete a quiz on different cities , then some pictures of Xiamen. According to the hints given, can you guess what city it is?

通过quiz 活跃气氛，引导学生进入city的主题。最后一个quiz的答案则是引导学生得知本文的主题厦门，引起学生的好奇心。同时在活动中巧妙讲授文中重要词汇，locate, costal, scenic spot等。然后展示出一些厦门的秀丽风景图片供学生欣赏，让学生身历其境，更有兴趣了解厦门。

本活动旨在帮助学生了解对话内容的细节，通过表格左边的提示，在文字中找到相应的具体内容，并总结归纳。因为长对话内容较松散，通过表格让学生了解到对话者到底介绍了厦门哪些方面，为读后阶段做铺垫准备。在学生回答的过程中，老师要注意适时引出新词，如district，apartment，rent，architecture等，并引导学生在上下文中理解gorgeous，lively在本文中的意义。

通过本课的学习，让学生思考如何介绍一个城市，鼓励学生思考更多的方面，在黑板上板书出学生的答案，也是对本课的一个总结和延伸。继续为介绍自己家乡城市作准备。

. Let me introduce Chengdu to you……. 本活动旨在将所学内容与自身生活结合起来，进行语言输出，来提高语言运用能力的目的。小组讨论，再让成员上来了汇报。本课整体对于学生来说比较浅显明白，因此通过阅读后重点放在了将本课内容扩展到自己生活中来。自己所生活的城市---成都，你将会从哪几面来描述？在讨论之前，继续给出了重点词汇等语言输出时的困难。最后给予一个任务，如果你是一位外国旅行团的导游，你将会怎么介绍成都呢？鼓励学生表达，相信通过这次介绍，学生能为自己的家乡感到自豪。

Homework：

1. Read the whole text at least three times with your partner (one plays the role of XiaoLi, the other plays the role of John) and try to read it fluently.
