2. The phrases of giving directions: turn left, turn right, go straight ahead Teaching aims:
1. Ss can use the sentences “Excuse me, where’s the…? How can I get to the …? Please tell me the way.” to ask the way.
2. Ss can use the phrases “turn left, turn right, go straight ahead” to give directions.
3. Ss can comprehend the dialogues and role-play the dialogues. Teaching important points:

Teaching difficult points:
Use “Excuse me, where’s the…? Please tell me the way. Turn left. Turn right. Go straight ahead.” to make their own dialogues.
Teaching procedures:
Step 1 Warm up
1.T: Last summer holiday, I went to London. I took many photos of London. Do you want to have a look?
S: Yes.
T: Let’s enjoy it together.
2. Watch a video.
Step 2 Presentation
1. T: As we can see in the video, London is a beautiful city. If you are in London, where do you want to go?
S: I want to go to the…
2.T: If you want to go to the …, but you don’t know the way. How to ask the way? (T shows the card.)
S: Where’s the…?
T drills the sentence one by one. Then T changes cards, Ss practice in lines, in groups.
3.T: If you want to go to the..., you can ask “Excuse me. Where’s the ...?”. You can also ask in other ways. How to ask in other ways? T leads Ss to say “How can I get to the...?” Then T drills the sentences in lines. T shows the cards. Ss say the sentences in groups.
4.T: How can I get to the park? Do you know how can I get to the park? Let’s look at the map. You are here now. How can you get to the park? S: ...
T: First turn right. Then go straight ahead. Then turn left. (T writes on the blackboard.)
5.T: Now, everyone, stand up. Take out your hands. Let’s say a chant. Right, right, turn right. Left, left, turn left. Straight, straight, go straight ahead.
6.Ss look at the pictures and fill in the blanks with “turn left, turn right, go straight ahead”.
7.Ask and answer. T presents the maps on the PPT. Ss ask and answer the way.
Step 3 Practice
1.Listening task. Ss listen and answer the questions.
2.T shows the pictures on PPT. Ss look at the pictures and retell the dialogue.
3.Listen to another dialogue and choose which map is the correct one.
4.T shows the maps and drills the word “beside”.
5.T presents a big map on the PPT. T asks where the museum is. Then T leads Ss to say a chant.
