Teaching steps

Step1. Warm-up

1.Let’s sing a song.

2.Make sentences with “Hello/ Hi, I’m ...”

Step2. Presentation

1.The teacher shows a picture of herself and makes a short self-introduction like: Hello!I’m Miss Chen. My name’s Chen Xuehua.

2.Show more pictures to present the sentence patterns.

3.Let’s chant

Step3. Let’s practice

The teacher invites several students to make a short conversation in the front like,

T: What’s your name?

S: My name’s ...

T: Goodbye!

S: Bye!

Then she encourages students to make a presentation like this.

Step4. Fill in the blanks.

Step5. Play a game

The students can make a conversation with the sentence patterns above one by one. Step6. Summary

The teacher summarizes what we have learned today.
