Step 1

Greetings to each other.

T : Hello, children !

I’m your new teacher today. You can call me Eileen or Miss Zhang . I’m very happy to come here and give you this lesson. Are you happy ?

Ss : Yes !

T：

I see you are happy, too . But our friend Sarah is not happy. Why？Let’s listen to the tape with these two questions. 1.Who is talking ?

2.What are they talking about ? (Show the let’s try part .)

Step 2 New concept. Check the answers.

T: Yes.

Parents are talking. And they are talking about going to the zoo. But can they go to the zoo ?

Ss : No .

T : Why ? What happened ? What’s wrong ? Let’s listen to the

dialogue and find the answers.

Ss listen to the tape and give the answers. T: Yes . Sarah’ dad is ill . So they can’t go to the zoo , and where should they go ? Now let’s listen to the tape for the second time, please circle the new words and underline the key sentences. You may ask some questions.

Ss listen and circle the new words , underline the key sentences,and ask some questions . Give the answers together.

If their questions aren’t enough. Teacher goes on asking :

I have a questions too. What should they do ?

How does dad feel ?

How does Sam feel ?

2、They should see a doctor . 3、Not well. That means he doesn’t feel very well .

Sam feels sad. T: Good job ! Sam feels sad . What does his mother say? S: Don’t be sad.

T: When others feel bad , What should we do ? Yes, we can give our suggestions.

Eg: If someone is fat . You may say : Don’t be worry. You should do more exercises. If someone is angry. You may say : Don’t be angry. You should take a deep breath and count to ten (深呼吸数到十). Understand ?

Step 3 Practice T: Well, let’s listen to the tape and repeat , pay attention to your pronunciation and intonation . Now please read in groups. Three in each group. Then act it out. Step 4 Consolidation and extension.

Well done. My friends need some help. What should they do ? Can you give your suggestions ? Teacher shows some pictures . Please make a dialogue like this: (一)

B : I feel ... A: Don’t be ... You should ...

A: What’s wrong?

B: I am... A: You should ...

Ask the Ss to show the dialogues in pairs. T: All of you have done a good job. And I feel so happy today . How do you feel ?

Ss: I feel happy too !
