【Teaching aims】

(一)知识与技能

1.能听懂、认读单词museum,park,church,train station,tourist office,police station,hospital,bus stop,post office,并给图片标上正确序号;

2.能听懂、理解并运用Excuse me,where is the……?等句型问路;

3.能听懂、理解并运用短语turn left,turn right,go straight ahead指路。

(二)过程与方法

1.小组合作与情景教学,并运用游戏和表演帮助学生理解与运用所学知识;

2.指导学生通过听音获取正确的信息,掌握一定的听音技巧。

(三)情感、态度与价值观

帮助学生了解如何用英文在生活中进行问路与指路。

【Teaching focus】

使学生学会认读表示建筑物和方位的单词以及短语:museum,park,church,train station,tourist office,police station,hospital,bus stop,post office;了解如何用英文在生活中进行问路与指路。

【Difficult points in teaching】

学生能通过听音获取正确的信息;能指认表示问路的单词museum,park,church, train station,tourist office,police station,hospital,bus stop,post office,turn left, turn right,go straight ahead能与伙伴们表演故事。

写有表示英文单词的卡片、ppt 、投影仪、与教材相配套的慧话宝平台的运用。

【Teaching procedures】

Step 1 Warming up

Listen to a short English song excerpt from《Penguins Game》that is about asking the way to arouse the students’ interest !

After the listening:

T:what have you got from it ?

S: left, right, go ,and turn around.

Step 2 Revision

Enjoy the beautiful pictures of our school to review words( playground, computer room, library, canteen, dancing room, classroom, etc. ) so as to lead to the new words learning.

Step 3 New words learning

1.Watch each picture and learn words and phrases.

2. Card memory. Read the words on each card with Chinese and English on each side. First look at the Chinese words ask the students to try to say what the English words are. Then look at the English words and read them out.

Step 4 Look, listen and fill in the numbers

Look, Listen and fill in the numbers on Page 32.

Check the orders.

Review the new words to make sure they have remembered them.

Step 5 Bingo game

Guess what word it is with one or two letters showing with the aid of a projector, asking the students to put up their hands as quickly as they can.

Step 6 Listen and tick the answers

Look at each picture on Page 33 and tell where it is.

Listen and tick the answers.

Check the answers.

Step 7 Dialogues learning

1.Go through the four dialogues by asking questions where to go and how to get there . Tell them we must be polite while talking with others, especially strangers. 2. Watch the picture and tell how to ask and show the way to give helps if some one want to go to the four different places on the picture.

Step 8 Act out the conversation in class

Practice in groups preparing the performance ,asking each group to choose five of them to act out in front, three playing different directions with one putting up a card ,showing others where to go ,two making a dialogue.

Invite groups to act it out and the teacher evaluates it at the same time.

Step 9 Summary
