Teaching Plan

Teaching objectives: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to 1.

grasp the gist of the story; 2.

understand the concrete details supporting the theme of the story; 3.

continue to write the story logically and beautifully.

Teaching methodology: Task-based learning approach and student-centered teaching approach communicative approach, etc

Teaching aids: Multi-media, blackboard, and overhead projector

Teaching procedures: I.

Lead-in 1.

Watch a video Mother Bear and her baby

to introduce the following questions: What can you learn from the little bear? What can you learn from the mother bear? Why didn’t the mother bear help her baby climb the snow mountain?

Reading 1.

Read for main characters: 2.

Read for main idea 3.

Read for the plot Q1: What kind of person is Miss Bee? 

Look at the appearance of Miss Bee 

Observe the actions of Miss Bee 

Listen to the words of Miss Bee Q2: How did “I” feel?

III.

Continuation Writing 1.

Based on the given beginning of Para. 13, T guides Ss to continue writing the story 2.

Give students some prediction questions:



Did “I” still feel ridiculous about Miss Bee’s words?



What would my daughter say? 

What would “I” say and do to my daughter?

Ss finish writing by themselves. IV.

Homework Read the passage again and polish the last paragraph;
