一、Introduction of the teaching material (教材分析):
This is the first new lesson in module 6 in grade3 of Research English. The topic is Happy birthday. The main scene is " birthday and present ." There are many contents in this text. It involves most of the vocabulary and sentence patterns of this unit. And it also contain some sentences that are not required to be mastered in this unit. This lesson mainly studies the sentence: " happy birthday." Let the students know how to send birthday wishes to their friends on their birthdays. In addition, the students need to use“here's your present “ when they’re giving a gift. This sentence is also the importance and difficulty of this lesson. Students are required to learn the words: cake,
pen,
pencil,
present through this lesson, and use these key words and sentence patterns in real situations. Therefore, in my classroom teaching procedures, I will focus on the improvement of students' language skills. By integrating object teaching methods, Task teaching method, game teaching method, situational teaching method and so on. Let the students learn by playing, and when they play, they can also learn English unconsciously. At last, they can fall in love with English unconsciously.

让学生学会在朋友亲人等生日的时候送上生日祝福。另外,送礼物时需要用到的Here’s your …
句型也是本课
学习的重点和难点。要求学生通过本课的学习,能够在真实情景中运用所学单词cake, pen, pencil, present,及句型Here’s your
….等句子。因此,在教学过程中,我将以提高学生的语言技能为出发点,结合直观教学,任务教学,游戏教学,情景教学等教学方法,让学生在学中玩,玩中学不知不觉地学会英语,最终不知不觉地爱上英语。)
二、Introduction of the teaching target (学情分析)
The students in Grade Three are characterized by curiosity and boundless enthusiasm about activities、performances and imitation. After two months of English learning, they have a certain amount of vocabulary and initial abilities to recognize and read English words. Meanwhile, they show strong interest in learning English. But their persistence in learning is still very inadequate. Therefore, in view of Ss’ cognitive characteristics and levels, appropriate teaching methods should be used, in order to stimulate their enthusiasm and protect their self-confidence. (三年级小学生好奇、爱活动、敢表现、善模仿,经过两个月的英语学习,已具有一定的词汇量和初步的认读单词的能力,对英语学习有着较为浓厚的兴趣,但是学习的持久性仍然非常欠缺。因此,在英语教学过程中,我们需要针对学生的认知特点和水平,设计教学方法,以此来激发他们学习英语的积极性,保护他们的自信心。)
三、Teaching aims and demands(教学目标)
1). Aims on the knowledge (知识目标) a). To master 4 new words

2). Aims on the abilities
(能力目标) a).To be able to say “ Happy birthday” to Sb.
b) To use the sentence〝Here’s your …〞when you give presents to Sb.
3). Aims on the emotion
(情感目标) a). The Ss can be able to say〝Thank you〞when they get the presents. b). To know some different cultures about presents between China and the western country.
四、Key points and difficulties
(教学重&难点) Importance:
① Ss can understand and speak the words: pen, pencil, cake, present. ②To enable Ss to understand and speak the key sentence patterns: “Happy birthday!
Here’s your …” . Difficulties:
①To make sure that Ss can use these key words and sentence patterns in real situations. ②
the pronunciation of “ present ”. 五、Teaching procedures and design purposes(教学流程与设计意图)
Before the class, students will be divided into four groups and they need to try their best to get their own presents during the class. This can facilitate our classroom teaching as a team competition. This design meets the pupils’
lively active personality, as well as characteristics of good competition, which may serve for our English teaching. Step 1 Warm-up (课前热身)
Sing a song 《
Please stand up
》
T:“Now, let’s sing and do.”
Ss sing the song and do the actions: stand up, sit down, point to the door/ window/ blackboard/ desk. 【Purposes】To attract Ss’ attention rapidly at the beginning of the class and mobilize their interest in English learning. The group done a good job can take one step for their presents; such stimulating evaluation can make Ss feel pleased and satisfied, and lead Ss into a thick English studying atmosphere. This song can also help to
review the words they’ve learned.“ Well begun, half done”.

Review & Presentation (复习与呈现新课) 1.
Free talk(自由交谈)

Point to the window and point to the door. Look. Here’s your door.”
(Present and teach the new sentence: Here’s your …) ②
T points to the window and ask:“Here’s your door?”Ss:“Window.”

Present the new words : 1)
Learn new word: pen
After Ss point and say:“Here’s your desk”, T takes a pen from the desk:“Look! Here’s your desk? What’s this?”
Present and teach the new word “pen”

Chant:pen, pen. Here’s your pen. 2)Learn new word: pencil
PPT shows the word “pen”, Ss say out the word, then letters“cil”come out. T:“What’s this? A pen?”
PPT shows the picture and T teaches the word“pencil”. Chant:pencil, pencil. Here’s your pencil. 3)
Learn new word: cake
①PPT shows the words : pen & pencil quickly for 4 times. Ss practise saying the word quickly when the word appears. Then the fifth time the word “ cake” comes out. If some Ss can say it, they can take two steps for the presents, if no one knows, T can teach the pronunciation . ②
Chant: cake, cake. Here’s your cake. T shows Ss a picture of birthday cake:“When can we have this cake?”( Present the topic: Happy birthday! )
4) Watch the video of Activity 1 & sing the happy birthday song.
①T: “Look, these are three boys, who are they? Let’s watch and find out.”
Ss watch the video and repeat the sentence: Happy birthday! ②T:“Today is their birthday, can we sing a song for them?”

Learn new word: present ( Saying the word by snapping fingers.)
PPT shows a picture of birthday party. Ss say the sentence:“Happy birthday!”according to the picture. T: Look. Here’s your …( points to the cake.) Ss: “ Here’s your cake.” Then T points to the present:“What’s this”--“Here’s your present.”
Chant:present, present. Here’s your present. 6) Read all of the new words once again
【Purposes】①New words are presented naturally in scene conversation, so that vocabulary teaching can blend in well with its language communication; ②By using changeable teaching means, we can make Ss feel that reading English words repeatedly is not a boring but interesting thing. In this way, we’ll be able to catch Ss’
attention through the whole class.
Step3 Practice (技能操练)
1)
To practice the sentence pattern by pointing to the words on the blackboard quickly.
2) play the game “
Catch the helicopter”.
(PPT shows the pictures of the helicopters, each helicopter carries a word, who can say out the word correctly and quickly can catch the helicopter, then the winner’s group can take one step for the presents.) 3) Let’s chant. 4) Learn Activity 2:

PPT shows the picture of Sam. T:“Who’s he?”
Ss:“Sam.”
T:“Good. Today is Sam’s birthday, what present did Daming get for Sam?”( Watch the video and find out the answer.) ②
Watch the video again and answer: How old is Sam? ③
Listen, point and say.
【Purposes】It considers that Ss can keep their attentions in limit time. This“Catch the helicopter”game makes full use of Ss’ curiosity to arouse their enthusiasm for participating in classroom activities. Furthermore, it can avoid the lifelessness and boredom from the pure mechanical drills. It will be very easy for them to grasp the new teaching materials by practicing new words and sentences efficiently in a cheerful atmosphere.
Step 4 Consolidation and extension (拓展提高)
1.
Let’s read the text. 2.
Let’s act out the dialogue. ( group- work) Ss practise the dialogue for several minutes, the they need to wear the head-wear and act out the dialogue. 3.Summery. 4. The different culture about present. Step 5. Homework . 1. Read the text to your parents. 2. Recite Activity 2 on page32-33.
