一. Teaching aims and demands:

1. Aims to the knowledge:

(1) To know about the English names of outdoor activities.

(2) To talk about favourite outdoor activity in English.

(1) To make students share the others’ outdoor activities and understand each other in English communication.

(2) To improve the students’ listening and speaking abilities.

3. Aims to the emotion:

(1) To make students have desire to study and enjoy English lesson.

(2) To train the students to love themselves, and develop their good character.

Step 1: learn part A: 1. Warming-up: (1). Share the song “ If you are happy ” together. (2).Show some pictures of outdoor activities to students. 2. Free talk:

(1).What kind of outdoor activities do you know?

(2). Do you usually have outdoor activities?

(3). What is your favourite outdoor activity?

Gets students to answer the questions to present the new lesson. 3. Presentation:

present some new outdoor activities by showing the pictures: camping cycling, jogging, riding, skating and swimming (presents new words: camping, cycling, riding, skating on the blackboard and gets students to read them.) 4. Practice: individual work

Asks students to finish the exercises: match the words with the pictures. 5. Consolidation:

Teacher presents some explanations about outdoor activities, ask students to say out what outdoor activities they are to consolidate the new words.

6. Listening practice:

Asks students to listen to the students’ reports, and then finish the blanks.

Step 2: learn part B: 1. Asks students to talk What outdoor activity they would like to try. And then presents the dialogue between Daniel and Amy. 2. Plays the tape and answer the questions: (1). What is Amy’s favourite outdoor activity? (2). What is Daniel’s favourite outdoor activity? Now listen to the tape again, answer anther two questions. (3). Why does Amy like riding? (4). Why does Daniel like camping? 3. Pairs work:

Get students to practice the dialogue with their partners and make new dialogues. Teacher offers some expressions and gives some help to them. (It’s good / helpful / useful for my health …

4. Group work：Discussion

shows a students’

survey about doing outdoor activities. gets students to ask all of their group members about their outdoor activities. write down the survey results and report groups surveys to the class. Each group should choose one reporter. Teacher presents a model for help. And then make a chart like that after class.

Step 3: learn Comic strip: 1.

Presentation:

Teacher says: all of us like doing outdoor activities, of course our friends Eddie and Hobo like being outside, too. What are they doing now? let’s listen to the dialogue. At the same time, you should remember the questions. 2.

Practice:

listen to the dialogue again and repeat and practice it in pairs. 3.

Act out the dialogue: Asks some pairs to act out the dialogue.

much fun for us. We should remember these words and phrases and talk about them with others. At the same time, we should help others, because “helping others is helping ourselves.”
