Unit 5 What Is He Like ? (The second period) 武功县普集镇中心小学 李海宁

Teaching aims: 1.Master the two sentences: What’s … like? What doyou think of him/her? 2.Train the students’listening, speaking, reading and writing skills. 3.Make the students have successful feeling and be able to cooperate in groups. Important point: Use the two sentences fluently. Difficult point: How to use the sentences fluently and freely. Teaching aids: Some pictures, ppt.

Teaching procedures: Step1:Free talk T:Who’s the woman in the picture? Ss: She’s our Math teacher. T: Is she funny? Ss: No,she isn’t. T: Is she kind? Ss: Yes,she is. 设计意图：通过愉快的谈话，从学生熟悉的同学和老师问起，营造轻松的学习氛围。

Step2: Presentation 1. Ask a student to stand up and ask:“Who can say something about him / her?”，“He / She does a lot for our class. He / She helps clean the blackboard, clean the windows… So he / She is a helpful student.”。

设计意图：让学生简单用英语表达，将新知与旧知识的融会贯通，提升语言运用能力。

2. Chant: Clever, clever._______ is clever. Shy, shy. ________ is shy. Outgoing, outgoing. ________ is outgoing . Serious, serious. ________ is serious. Kind, kind. _________ is kind . Friendly, friendly. _________ is friendly. Hard-working, hard- working. ______ is hard-working. 设计意图：在说唱中学会表达一个人的性格特征。

3. Come to “Let’s talk”

Listen to the text and try to answer the following questions: What’s Kevin’s favorite subject? What does Kevin think of their Math teacher? Does Kevin’s sister like Ms.May?

Key knowledge: make, find sth./sb. Interesting Try to make sentences with the word and phrase. 设计意图：在听中把握要点，锻炼学生听的能力，并会将听到的做简单回答。

Step3: Practice activities 1. Read the dialogue together. 2. Read in roles 3.Act the dialogue group by group. 设计意图：通过三个活动，达到语言的内化。

Step4: Consolidation Make up a dialogue according to the text. 设计意图：参照课文编对话，达到语言的输出。

Step5:Summary Ask: What do you learn from this lesson.

Ask the students to sum up what they learned in this lesson. 设计意图：通过总结，回顾本节课所得。

Step6: Homework 1.Recite the dialogue. 2.Introduce your father or mother to your friends and try to write it down. 设计意图：作业分等级，作业1全部同学都做，作业2提供给学有余力的同学拔高联系。通过简单的写作练习，达到知识的巩固与提高。
