一、教材分析

本课选自冀教版小学英语五年级下册第二单元的第四课。在本单元，学生已经了解到小主人公到达北京，开始了他们的北京之旅，并且在前面他们已经参观了天安门和故宫两个景点。本节课内容包括两部分。第一部分主人公讨论了长城的基本情况，这部分内容对于学生来说属于基本常识，他们对长城或多或少的有一些了解。第二部分讲述Danny在从长城回来的路上由于不遵守交通规则所发生的事。本课篇幅不长，图文并茂，更贴近生活，便于理解。

二、学情分析

五年级的学生已经有个一定的英语知识基础，也有了一定的基本常识，知识面相对变宽，具备了一定的逻辑思维能力，能借助图片读懂简单的对话，能简单表达自己的情感并进行语言交流。我们在第一单元已经学过祈使句的肯定和否定的表达方式，本课讲结合道路安全行走这一情景继续渗透祈使句Please..., Don’t .... 等的用法。

三、教学目标

1.学生能正确听说读写单词feel , tired , stop , wait , afraid . 2.学生能认读理解并运用下列句型

long ...? 来询问物体的长度。

学生能够自由的谈论物体的长度。

学生进一步巩固和运用祈使句来表达做与不做某事。

Greet

students as they arrive for class. Sing the song ( Let’s take a picture, you and me.)Review what they have learned so far. Ask the students : What do you know about Beijing.There are many interesting places in Beijing .

What about the Palace Museum ? What do Jenny and Danny see people doing in the park ? Pretend I am

taking a picture and ask “What

am I dong ?”

The students should say: Taking a picture.

Lesson Hook Ask the students to open their books to page 26 . Today ,we will learn about a great wonder of the world----the Great Wall . We will also learn a good safety rule to follow when walking in the city .

Step two New concepts 一、On the Great

Wall

1、Say : Open your book to page 26,Part 1 . Point to the

picture and ask “What is this ? Do you know

this place? What do you know about the Great Wall ? ”

Now , play the audiotape and let the students follow along in the book.Then translate the text. Ask three students to read the dialogue to the rest of the class. 2.Learn the phrase in part one. Then answer the questions. 二、On the way back 1、Teach the new vocabulary “feel , tired , stop , wait , afraid ” together. 2、Show

how to make an action for “tired” .You can pretend to make a big yawn, holding your hand over your mouth . When do this , say “I am tired”.Ask the students to repeat after you. 3、The same to “feel , stop , wait , afraid ”. 4、Learn the phrases in the part 2. 5、Write on the blackboard : Be careful when you cross the street. Say the words and have

the students repeat after you .Ask someone to tell you why Danny is afraid. 6、Practice.
