教材分析:
本单元是第八册教材的第三单元,纵观本册教材,本单元主要是谈论出生年份和生肖。询问他人的出生年份以及描述生肖的基本表达方式,让学生听说读写并运用核心语言When were born you?I was born in1980.My animal sign is Monkey。是以学生以及家庭成员的生肖贯穿始终,目的在于让学生掌握一些简单的出生和生肖问候以及答语。
学情分析:
六年级学生学过12生肖的动物单词和家庭成员的单词。从本单元的对话内容来看,需要学生知道家庭成员出生年份以及生肖,因此,学生只要掌握了这些新知识,学习本单元的内容就轻松简单化。
课前反思:
在学习新课之前,学生首先复习一些动物单词以及了解自己家庭成员的出生年份以及生肖。教师适当布置新的语法一般过去时以及be动词过去式和它们的应用。这些内容如果学生提前预习好,就能很轻松的上好这节课。

教学流程:(14步)
1.
巧妙导入; Greetings Listen to the text about Chinese paper cutting art and twelve animal signs. Review some animals。(出示12种动物图片)
2.
引出主题 : Know about twelve animal signs: Mouse / Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit / Hare, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat / Sheep, Monkey, Rooster, Dog and Pig. 3.
解决难点: Enjoy a movie Twelve Animal Signs. T: My animal sign is Tiger. What about you?
What’s your animal sign? S: My animal sign is ----(Monkey / Goat / Rooster) Talk with your partner. What’s your animal sign? My animal sign is ----- . What are their animal signs? What’s his / her animal sign? His / Her animal sign is ----. (Ox,Mouse, Dragon, Snake, Tiger, Rabbit / Hare, Horse, Goat / Sheep, Monkey, Rooster, Dog and Pig.) Read and write the new words “mouse, dragon, and snake”(根据一张12生肖图片来谈论对方及家庭成员的生肖以及出生年份)
4.听音感知: Listen to the tape and try to choose the question? (1)What’s his animal sign? (2)When was he born?
(3)Is that the Monkey Year?
5.默读初始:Read silently and fill in the blanks in groups . There are( )animal signs。In China,everybody has an ( )( )。When ( )you( )?I ( )born in 1980.That is the ( )Year。My animal sign is( )。
6.朗读探知:Read loudly and answer the questions. 7.听音跟读:Listen and try to read after the tape. 8.角色朗读:小组读,男女读,开火车读,领读,师生对读,角色读。
9.留白处理:留白读,去掉文中关键词让学生填空读。
10.短文示范: A:When were you born? B: I was born in…. A: That’s the _____ year. A: My animal sign is _______.
11.学生仿写:Students can imitate it and try to write it own .(出示课件,因为孩子们不知道自己长辈的年龄以及生肖,出示几个关键词可以让学生根据这些来完成书写)
12.课堂小结:今天我们学习了对话和几个单词。一般过去时的简单构成,重点讲了be动词过去式以及用法。
13.布置作业:Assignment of Homework. Ask the students to recite the text to their members. They also recite the words and make sentences with (was)and(were)。
14.情感升华:通过对自己生肖及出生年份的表达方式来和同学们进行交流进而来询问对方家庭成员的生肖及年份,增进彼此的交流,从而增进友谊,提高学习英语的兴趣。

课后反思:
本单元知识比较简单,学生们能够轻松自如地背写单词和背诵对话,同时也能正确使用be动词的过去式造句子。同学之间能熟练地操练本节课的两个句型。
