Type of lesson: Listening and Speaking Analysis --- my understanding of this lesson and my students:

This is the second period of this part. It plays a very important part in the English teaching of this unit And So I put using language and speaking together, which are all related to the topic of cloning. As for the skills, we should lay particular emphasis on the students’ listening ability and speaking ability. It focuses on the students’ abilities to gather information; deal with information; solve problems and the abilities to think and express in English. Meanwhile, the whole unit is all about cloning, therefore it is necessary to make students value the advantages and disadvantages. After that, they will learn to express their own opinions.

By the way, as my students are not so good at

English, to get them to understand this lesson better, I’ll encourage them to do some speaking, reading and writing. Of course, the students should receive some moral education. Generally speaking ,My teaching methods rely on whether the students’ speaking ability is good or not. As senior students of grade two, they are supposed to express their ideas and master some basic listening skills .

Step 1:

Greetings and words review Purpose: lead in the topic by word review. T: Good morning, class. S:No fear, no cower (班级口号) T: Thank you all.

Sit down, please. S: Thank you.

T: OK. Now, class, in unit 2, we have learned something about cloning, right? So, what is cloning? It means create a new life with an old one. They are ____ the same. Can you guess the missing word?

S: exactly. T: yes, I am happy you can still remember the new word--- exactly (确切地) T: Now, let’s do a fast test to check the words we’ve learn. please take out your cell phones and finish the word test. ……

T: finished? How many marks do you get ? I hope all of you can get a high score. Now , look here, I’ll show you’re the meanings together.

Step 2: free talk Purpose: lead in the listening topic. T: by the way, how about the two words: straightforward and complicated? T: Yes, do you still remember the sentence “克隆植物简单，然后克隆动物复杂”

S: Yeah，cloning plants is straightforward, while cloning animals is complicated. T: but why? May be it’s a difficult task and sometimes it is dangerous.

So Do you think scientist will use human beings to do some experiments?

S: of course not. T: they will use animals instead, because it’s too dangerous to human beings.

T: but, there may be problems. For example, if your were this animal, would you feel painful? And, this picture, one is successful, but behind, there are more dead. However, without failure, without success. T: that is really a question, “Is cloning with animals cruel ? “

Step 3: before listening Purpose: key words to get the main idea.

T: OK, now from the chart ,we can see that cloning with animals has both advantages and disadvantages. It’s hard to day it’s cruel or not.
