整体设计思路
In this period, students will learn to write a letter of application based on analysis of their own writings, conclusions and practices. Students will be helped to analyze the structure paragraph by paragraph. In every paragraph, they will be firstly shown some of their writings and then given some sentence patterns, and at last they will be given a writing to apply what they have learnt into practices. 二．教学目标
1. To analyze and polish the writings of students
2 To help students learn some advanced sentences patterns 3 To improve the students’ writing skills . 三．教学重难点

Step 1 Greetings and lead- in
Students two of their writings in the exam and ask them: Which will get a high score? What makes a good application? Step 2 Analysis and conclusion
Analyze the structure of an application and conclude how to write each paragraph by learning some linking words and advanced sentences
Step 3 Practice makes perfect
Let the students practice translating sentences with some advanced sentence patterns. Step4 Writing and polishing
Ask students to write a letter of application and polish them
Step 5 Summary
