ⅠTeaching aims In this lesson, students will be able to: 1. understand the concept of present perfect continuous tense. 2. apply the present perfect continuous tense by making sentences on their own 3. distinguish different English tenses by translating Chinese into English and creating sentences. Ⅱ

Important points& difficult points Important points: 1. Students may learn to use present perfect tense in the context. 2. Students can make use of different English tenses in real conversations. Difficult point: 1.

Students may find it difficult to understand the form and usage of present perfect continuous. 2.

Students may find it difficult to differentiate English tenses. Ⅲ

Teaching Procedure Step 1 Lead-in and Context constructing The teacher shared a story of Lihua who made a mistake of the tense.

(目的：教师展示一个由时态错误引发的幽默的误会，激发了学生的学习兴趣，强调了英语时态在话语中的重要性，引出了英语时态这一主题，并且开始创设贯穿整堂课的情景故事。）

Step 2 Form concluding

Students are asked to help Lihua conclude the form of present perfect continuous tense according to the examples: 1. We’ve been excavating here for many years and…

2. They have been finding the bones of tigers and bears in the caves. 3. She has been learning dancing for 6 years. Its form: have/has been doing

(目的: 让自下而上，让学生主动归纳出语法规律。这不仅能够激发学生的探究力，而且能够加深他们对语法规则的记忆。) Step 3. Practice

and

consolidation

Students are asked to practice the tense by describing Lihua's single life with the help of pictures and key words. e.g.:

Answer: He has been sleeping for 8 hours.

(目的:让学生通过练习来巩固刚刚归纳的语法规则。继续讲述Lihua的故事，每张照片都能够创造一个情境，让语言在情境中创造，培养学生的创造力，同时给出的关键词又给学生一定的产出支撑。) Step 4.

Time adverbial concluding

Students are asked to conclude its time adverbials from the sentences they just made and put them into four categories. He has been sleeping alone for 8 hours. He has been studying alone all the morning. He has been preparing lunch alone for a long time. He has been playing basketball alone since 3 o’clock.

He has been singing alone all night. He has been working hard recently. He has been making friends lately.

(目的:同理，让学生自主归纳和现在完成时搭配的时间状语，激发学生探究欲望，加深他们的记忆。) Step 5. Tense Distinguishing

The difference between English tense and Chinese tense is shown with a video. Then students are asked to translate the Chinese tenses into English.

（目的：让学生了解中英文在时态上的差异，让学生平时在写作的时候能够有所警醒，注意谓语动词的变形。）

Step 7：Conversation translation Tom: 李华，你带钱包了吗？

(目的:让学生接触日常易错的时态点，深刻理解情境中的英语时态。）

Step 8 Guess who？

Students are asked to choose a classmate in your class and describe him or her, including one or two sentences using the present perfect continuous tense.

(目的：让学生进行创造性的产出，既让学生将所学的投入实际运用，而且考验他们对彼此的了解。) Homework Write a story with all the tenses you have learned and make it as interesting as possible.
