Student: The students of Grade 7. Teaching hour: One class hour. 一、Teaching Aims：

1. Language goals：

By the end of the class, students should be able to learn:

New words: do/does, have, soccer ball, go, same, love, relaxing, volleyball, basketball, baseball, bat, play, TV, difficult, easy, ping-pong, with, sport….

2)

New sentences: Do you have a soccer ball? Yes, I do. No, I don’t.

I don’t have a …, but I have a….

3)

Article: A short essay about sports collection. 2. Ability goals：By the end of the class, students should be able to learn some new words and say some sentences.

3. Moral goals：After class, students can realize the importance of sport and can be interested in it.

二、Teaching tasks：

Let students know the words of some different kinds of sports. Improve their reading skills and the ability of cooperation. Cultivate their interest in learning English. 三、Teaching main points and difficulties:

1) Learning new words and new sentences. 2) Guide students to listen, talk and read. 四、Teaching methods: Demonstration, Cooperative learning, Task-based Language Teaching.. 五、Teaching aids:

Teacher greets to students and asks them some questions that we’ve learned.

Ⅱ. Presentation

1.

Warming up: Leading into the class by showing a basketball to students. T: What’s this in English? S1: It’s a basketball.

T: Yes, you are right. Read after me. (It can catch students’ interests and let them know the topic of the class.)

2. Learn the new words by showing pictures of sports on the screen:

1. Learn the new words about sports: baseball, Soccer ball, volleyball,

basketball, tennis, ping-pong…

2. Teacher leads students to read the new words.

（It can deepen the students’ understanding of the words.）

3. Work on 2a:

1. Finish 2a: Find the sports words in the box. Write them in the correct column. 2. Teach students to read the sentences:

（1）Do you have a soccer ball? （2）Yes, I do. No, I don’t.

（3）I don’t have a …, but I have a….

（It can improve students’ autonomous learning ability.）

4. Free talk: Let them do a short conversation by using these sentences.

(It can train students’ speaking skills.)

Ⅲ. Listening 1. Next，we’ll listen to a record of the passage. Then students should be able to circle the words about sports.

2. Check the answer together by doing an activity. （It can improve students’ listening skills.）

IV. Reading

Focus on 2d：(Scanning and Grouping)

Paragraph 1: Look at the following questions and found the answers.

1. Who has a soccer ball?

2. What sport do they like?

Paragraph 2: Let students scan this paragraph and fill in the blanks.

I have two _________, three volleyballs, four basketballs and ____baseballs and bats. I love_____, but I don’t play them –I only watch them _______!

Paragraph 3: After reading this paragraph, students need to know whether the sentence is right or wrong.

There are new words on their paper sheet. If they don’t understand the meaning of some words, they can check by own.

VI. Explaination 1. I don’t have a soccer ball, but my brother Alan does.

我没有足球，但是我哥哥艾伦有。

句中的does是do的第三人称单数形式。此处用do来代替上文出现过的动词或动词词组,以避免重复。在本句中，does代替上文出现过的have a soccer ball。如：

Jack doesn’t play volleyball, but his sister does.

杰克不打排球, 但他的姐姐打。

Linda has a baseball bat, but I don’t.

琳达有一个棒球拍, 但是我没有。

2. love 是动词, 意为“喜欢；喜爱”, 比

like 的程度深。常见的结构为：

love + sth. / sb. 意为“喜爱物/人”。

e.g. He loves his mother. 他爱他的母亲。

Love me, love my dog.

(谚语)爱屋及乌。

3. watch ... on TV 表示“在电视上看… (节目)”, 其中watch是“观看; 注视”, 强

调“观看”其行为动作。on TV是固定短语, 意为“在电视上”。

4. easy是形容词, 意为“容易的; 不费力的”, 其反义词是difficult。

e.g. English is difficult for her.

对她来说英语很难。

Basketball is easy for me.

对我来说篮球很容易。

5. after school 意为“放学后”, after在句中作介词, 意为“在……以后” 。如：

After school, I go home with my sister. 放学后, 我和姐姐回家。

VII. Summary

This class is meaningful and interesting. Students can learn more new words and sentences. Also they will love sports better and know the importance of health. VIII. Homework

1. Try to read and learn the new words after class. 2. Read the text after class.
