Analysis of the teaching material The content of this lesson is the third period in Section A Unit 7 How much are these socks. It is taken from PEP Junior English for China, Grade 7. This lesson focuses on speaking, reading and writing. It plays a very important part in this unit. In this lesson, the students learn how to ask the prices in their daily life. After learning this lesson, the students will have positive attitudes towards their life. Also, It will help to arouse students’ learning interests and cultivate their core competences. II.

Analysis of the students The students in junior high school have obtained some words, phrases and sentence structures, which can facilitate them to express their own ideas. They have the basic abilities of speaking, reading and writing, too. So it’s easy for them to talk about prices in their daily life. Maybe some of them are unwilling to express themselves and communicate with others, because they are afraid of making mistakes. I’ll encourage them to be active in my class. Their individual differences should also be taken into consideration. III.
